AMD has showcased a new family of AI processors at CES 2026 with the unveiling of the AMD Ryzen AI Max and Ryzen AI Max Pro series processors.
“The reason we introduced the 392 and 388 chips is because those are the right products for gamers we’re bringing in,” AMD client chip boss Rahul Tikoo tells us in a press briefing. “Those two products were brought in because we had specific customer requests around gaming SKUs that we wanted to bring to market.”
AMD has launched its new Ryzen AI 400 series APUs at CES 2026 keynote today. It has shared specs, performance and more.
Most chips you’ll see in laptops will max out with the Ryzen AI 7 450, an 8-core CPU with a 5.1GHz clock speed and 24MB cache with only a 50 TOPS NPU. Overall, it’s a subdued update to one of AMD’s most prevalent CPUs.
