Walk for Peace public gathering in Decatur delayed | Details
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - The public gathering has been pushed back to 5 p.m., according to the City of Decatur. It was originally scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. As of 2:30 p.m., the monks were still at Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center, which is where they stopped for lunch.
Decatur recently became Georgia's first "Bird City" and is leading the way with changes big and small to build a safer environment for its winged residents.
Three dangerous inmates escaped from DeKalb County Jail near Atlanta Monday. Authorities warn residents to avoid approaching the possibly armed fugitives.

Walk for Peace continues through Georgia | Where to see them this week
Buddhist monks participating in a 2,300-mile Walk for Peace will make two public stops in metro Atlanta Monday and Tuesday as part of their ongoing pilgrimage from Texas to Washington, D.C.
A Decatur couple started hanging large, lighted spheres high up in trees several Christmases ago. This year more than 250 fill up the sky of their Parkwood neighborhood.
Three inmates have escaped from a county jail east of Atlanta, including one charged with murder. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says the breakout happened early Monday morning at the DeKalb County Jail.

Monks arriving in Decatur on Tuesday
The Buddhist monks participating in the Walk for Peace from Texas to Washington DC will arrive in Decatur, Georgia, on Tuesday. Road closures will be in place and large crowds are expected.
