A First Alert Weather Day is in place for the Ozarks as a severe weather threat and heavy rain threat shifts into the region Saturday. We’re looking at the potential of damaging winds, heavy rainfall and possible brief tornadoes between 6 p.m. Saturday and midnight early Sunday.
Starting today and over the next few days, heat indices will climb into the triple digits, prompting First Alert Weather Days.
Today will be hot with afternoon highs rising to near 90 degrees. Most areas will stay completely dry, but inland SE GA (i.e. Waycross) could see an isolated shower or two. Tuesday and Wednesday will be similar to today.

Sunday and Monday are FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAYS as the hottest stretch of the year arrives. Temperatures in the mid-90s to near 100 degrees could challenge daily record highs Sunday and Monday, while unusually warm nights may also challenge record warm low temperatures Monday and Tuesday mornings.
No major damage or injuries were reported after Intense storms rolled through the city around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Thursday and Friday are First Alert Weather Days due to a heat advisory for most of the Tri-State Area. There's also an air quality alert for some of the area. CBS News New York Meteorologist Tony Sadiku has the forecast.
